Dismal Reds fall short in damp squib

PFFC 3 TNT 5

Ally, 22 October 2007

After the highs of Filippo's PF Madrid match, I'm sorry to say we couldn't make it a historic double, as we lost to
TNT 5-3 in a dour and depressing evening at Willesden.

Worst performance of the season so far but there will be no bollocking this time as the guy who usually gives it was the pick of the bunch last night so once again, apologies.

We started against seven or eight and slowly, more of their players drifted onto the pitch during the first ten minutes. Apart from a period late in the second half, we never hit our stride and struggled to carry on the progress made in recent games. We opened the scoring after José fired in a cross come shot from the left but didn't really trouble them after this opening. They equalised and then scored before half time leaving us a goal behind but with a mountain to climb in terms of our first half performance. Kieran (playing up front to keep the previously successful Scottish partnership in midfield intact) scored to level but TNT scored two goals in ten minutes and it was only really at this point (with the addition of Tamber and Mauro) that we showed any sort of desire to compete but by this time, it was too little too late.

A truly awful performance then, but to be fair, we were due one and hopefully this will be the last bad result for a long time.
