Philosophy Football in Paris for Albert Camus 'First Man Tour'

Philosophy Football, those 'sporting outfitters of intellectual distinction', which has produced T-shirts adorned with the words of Albert Camus, Jean Paul Sartre, Simone De Beauvoir, Eric Cantona and Ludwig Wittgenstein, will be in Paris this weekend for a match against the magazine France Football. The match has been arranged to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Philosophy Football and the production of its first ever shirt, which was dedicated to Albert Camus, with the words: 'All that I know most surely about morality and obligations, I owe to football'.

Camus was Philosophy Football's 'First Man' and the players will wear a special anniversary shirt to mark this occasion. Following the game, the players will eat together and in the afternoon Philosophy Football officials will visit Le Procope cafe, an old haunt of Camus, to present the owner with the Camus Philosophy Football shirt. This is Philosophy Football's 11th European tour and follows visits to Rome, Bruxelles, The Hague, Prague and Venice.

Philosophy Football à Paris pour « La Tournée  du premier homme»

Philosophy Football, « le fournisseur sportifs des maillots intellectuels », qui a produit des T-shirts sur lesquels ont &eacué gravés les noms et les paroles d'Albert Camus, Jean Paul Sartre, Simone De Beauvoir ou Eric Cantona, sera à Paris ce week-end (1–3 avril) pour un match de football contre Football de France. Le match a &eacué organisé pour émorer le dixième anniversaire de Philosophy Football et la réalisation de son premiér T-shirt, d&eacuté à la mémoire d'Albert Camus, avec ces mots : « Mes certitudes sur la moralité et les devoirs, je les dois au football ».

Camus est « le Premier Homme » pour Philosophy Football et les joueurs porteront un maillot spécial pour marquer cette occasion. Après la partie, les joueurs déjeunerons ensemble, puis, dans le courant de l'après-midi, les représentants de Philosophy Football se rendront au Procope, où Camus à rencontré Jean Paul Sartre, afin d'offrir au propriétaire le maillot « Camus ». C'est leur 11ième tournée eéenne après celles de Rome, Bruxelles, La Haye, Prague et Venise.

Tour programme

Friday: Meet 2.15 Grand Café Eurostar for 1511 departure
Arrive in Paris, Gare du Nord 1853;. Meet up with Jez, Jon and Alessandro. Marco and Giacomo to meet us later in the Left Bank district. Aperitif, then dinner in Left Bank bistro recommended by Alessandro.

Saturday: Early rise for morning kick off, enforced by Satellite TV. Pre-match photos. Match will be followed by lunch at local restaurant with France Football squad and officials.
Saturday late afternoon: Visit to old haunts of Camus, Sartre, De Beauvoir and presentation of shirts. Tour of Left Bank area to take in Sorbonne and some galleries. Meet up with hosts for Aperitif, dinner and finish in Jazz bar.

Sunday: More sightseeing for those staying. Lunch on the river. Afternoon/evening: Depart for London
