Season ends with a free point

PFFC 0 Sporting Falcons 0

17 May 2012

The Reds earned another point without a ball being kicked after agreeing a non-playing draw with the Falcons fixture secretary and the league secretary. League leaders Falcons are challenging for the cup and so are experiencing fixture congestion, and once the middle of May had been reached it was clear that there was never going to be a chance to complete this final league fixture.

It's a shame, because the It would have been good for the resurgent Philosophers to have another crack at the Falcons before the summer break, but we finish the season on 24 points and in a clear third place, a very creditable result for a hard season's work, and something we can aim to improve on next season.
